Award wins for Hindbo Construction

Hindbo Construction is no stranger to winning awards. Their ‘Eagle Bay Retreat’ project won Gold in the 2018 Canadian Home Builders Central Okanagan ‘Tommie Awards’. In addition, this outstanding home won ‘Finalist’ in the 2019 Provincial Georgie Awards. There were lots of ‘Oh’s and Awe’s’ when the photos of this home were shown at the Gala events!

The homeowners had owned this lakefront property for some time but wanted an updated home to accommodate summertime visits with their adult children and their families. The spacious home has a well-planned floorplan for large family gathering or quiet spaces for relaxation. The everchanging lake views are emphasized from each level. The covered sunporch is a family favourite!

Their clients wanted a walkout patio, not a deck off the back of their home. By building up the backyard they achieved a generous walk-out patio, plus there’s a daylight-basement at the back corner. Completing the exterior look is an outstanding rust-toned stone wall sourced from a local quarry!

Inside, the 26-foot-high ceiling features exposed post and beam construction accented by a full-height stone faced fireplace. The home’s well-designed layout subtly splits the private and public spaces. The open space feels grand, while the groupings feel intuitive and immediately comfortable.
